Second First Impressions

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne.

6 out of 10.  Romance novel.  Great interaction and conversations between two main characters.  Kept me wondering how the the plot would develop.  Enjoyed their word play a lot.  Very slow progression of main plot, with two older characters adding a lot of humor.  He had a reputations for lovin' 'em and leavin' 'em.  He'd had lots of girlfriends.  He couldn't hold down a job but had a goal to save money to begin in a business of his own, instead of having anything to do with rich daddy and the rest of the family who have mostly written him off.  She was a preacher's daughter who had very little romantic experience and that had been bad.  Her job was her life and she was good at it.  Finally things go the way you hope, mostly, but then "slam-bam" all the other problems they had with family, work, future careers, and money are swept away...what?  How?  Hundreds of pages to wonder and in two pages it's wrapped up?  The door was closed in my face. There was no more. Did I skip some chapters?  No.  The author's writing light bulb flickered and quit. More chapters were needed to get to the ending.  It's like the author left the office and someone else wrapped up what had been a good book.
