Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams

Fifty pages before the end.  Oh I can’t wait to find out what happens.
Fifty pages before the end.  Oh, I don’t want it to ever end.

Wonderful story during WW II and in the 1960’s.  Annabelle finds the love of her life.  The beginning of her ‘they lived happily ever after’ dream.  He’s gone in a few days but leaves her with another life’s beginning.  She marries quickly and her husband loves her dearly, raising the baby as his own.  That love of her life is Jewish and embroiled in all the hardships that includes.  Her husband is a trusted Nazi committed to eradicating the Jews.

Years later Annabelle is living in the U.S.A. and knows the car she drove across Europe to escape is now for sale. A young woman, Pepper, who fixed up the vintage Mercedes is expecting a baby and the money for the car will enable her to escape the baby’s father.  But Annabelle has other ideas and takes in Pepper.  The baby’s father has power and other ideas.

So the two plots unfold, coming together and apart and together again.  It’s GREAT!  11 out of 10.
