Flirting With Pete by Barbara Delinsky

There seems to be two stories going on at once and it takes a long time to find any connection between the two. Raised by her mother, Casey has kept tabs on her absent father who has ignored her all her life, even following in his career footsteps.  When he dies there is a surprise and mystery for her.   In the other story, Jenny has been abused and manipulated all her life and Pete is the only way she could survive the return of her father who had been in prison for murdering her mother.  Great interweaving of the two stories.  Recommended reading. 8 out of 10.

Red Lily, by Nora Roberts

Red Lily, by Nora Roberts.  Part three of the “In the Garden” Trilogy.  A huge, historic old house, flowers and gardens, and romance.  Perfect formula for me.  Except for that ghost who shares all three with the characters.  It’s such a dream of a life for Harley, finding family, work and a love after being alone.   But Amelia, who lived more than one hundred years ago, is ready to take back what she lost.  Enjoyable, light, and a 8 out of 10.
