The Next Time You See Me by Holly Goddard Jones

The Next Time You See Me by Holly Goddard Jones.  I’ll start by saying this was a 3 out of 10.  If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have finished it.  There didn’t seem to be one character who had enough character to be a good character, or a character you would want to know.  Wish that was enough to say about the characters.  From the beginning you already know the ending.  Getting there is drudgery.  You know the girl who is ridiculed by her school mates will not do the right thing. The hopeless factory workers will drag you down.  You know the teacher will make poor decisions.  So will the policeman.  Parents don’t have a clue.  You will soon know that every character is going to do something you wish they wouldn’t, and that they shouldn’t.  Yes, the world if full of fools and the foolish.  Drunks, snobs, bullies, and under dogs are everywhere.  But there are the good people with hope and promise, the ones who make good decisions.  Just not in this book.  Depressing. Empty. But the writer did succeed in dragging me along. And...what happened to capital letters in titles and names?
