Heart Like Mine by Amy Hatvany

Heart Like Mine, by Amy Hatvany.  Modern romance novel.  Girl has met boy.  Girl doesn’t want children, having raised a much younger brother.  Boy has two children from former marriage.  Children only come to Dad’s every other weekend.  It is going well.  Boy gives girl engagement ring.  They tell ex-wife.  Ex-wife is dead within days.  Now the applecart is upset.  Mom’s death turn children into difficult children.  Boy has business problems and is away most of every day.  Girl is now responsible for the children nearly 24/7.  Typical clashes, but written with sensitivity and sensibility. 8.5 out of 10.

The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright

The Wednesday Letters, by Jason F. Wright.  This sweet novel reminds me of Nicholas Sparks’ love stories.  That’s good.  A loving husband has written his wife a letter every Wednesday of their married lives.  She saved them all.  When the couple suddenly passes away their adult children discover the letters and some family secrets.  So, as they deal with the ordeal of the funeral and loss, they also have to deal with these secrets.  Nicely woven story.  9/10.
