An entertaining read. No Place For a Lady by Deb Stover

This is a romantic western.  Mixed up identities after a kidnapping, a search for a missing father, family ties and family mysteries.  All this makes a fun read with some nice surprises and sad "I thought so's."  Romance on at least three fronts.  Fast pace.  I didn't figure out the "bad guy" right away, and thought, "Well, Duh!" when I did.  Nice read.  8 out of 10.

Nice read for vacation. Highlander In Disguise by Julia London

Always like a book about Scotland of long ago.  The hero has to go to London to return the family fortune to Scotland.  Translation:  Go to London (Wait, isn't that the author's name?) to steal the fortune from the English side of the family and hightail it home if he can.  Of course he meets his romantic interest and the plot's premise regarding how he will get the fortune in his possession is mindless.   No redeeming value.  Easy entertainment.  In a year you will not remember what the story was about.  But without scrutiny, it is pure entertainment with no hidden agenda.  8 out of 10.
