One Second After, by William R. Forstchen

One Second After, by William R. Forstchen. Read it! Stays in your head a long time. Centered in a rural community in North Carolina, a series of electromagnetic pulses has caused an apocalyptic ending of life as they have known it. All computer aided devices quit. There is no outside communication.  No food supplies come in. Vandalism and roving vigilantes are the norm. Survivalist mode had to kick in. Populations decrease as food supplies disappear. Chaos. No reprieve. Even the end offers no hope for any return to life as it was known. Those with the most gun fire and cooperation amongst themselves, last longer. Who set off the electromagnetic pulses that crippled the United States? Is it a world wide event? Who is taking over the country? Not science fiction, as it could happen. I'm ready to read it again and very few of the 1900 books I've read are good enough for me to say that. 10/10.
