Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
Get out the tissues.  Will, healthy, single but involved, active to the point and passed of being a daredevil, is paralyzed in an accident, not of his own making.  Relegated to life in a wheelchair he fails in an attempt at suicide.  But he then determinedly informs his family that he will give them six more months and then enter a facility that assists people to end their own lives.
Louisa has recently lost her job as does her Dad. Her family hits hard times.  Eventually she finds employment as Will’s companion, even though she has no similar prior experience.
Great story as Will and his upper class, rich family adjusts to the “common” Louisa.
Louisa inadvertently discovers part of her job is making sure Will is not left alone long enough to get his way and end his life,  thinking that before the six months is up, he will change his mind.
Will is bitter, often critically ill, and hard to deal with.  He exists in a self-designed life of isolation and Louisa’s determined plots to get him out and find enjoyment in life fail miserably.
As expected they get around to getting along.  But six months go slowly for some and fast for others.
    Score, 9 out of 10.
