Very ho-hum for a lot of the book. Dual romantic stories, nicely paced but slow going. The old man struggling to survive a car wreck and reliving the love of his life as he is stranded and suffering. The young college gal, trying to avoid a stalking former boyfriend, meets a cowboy at a dance and then their “dance” begins. Each scenario is good reading but no definitive angst beyond what one would expect. Then, as usual, Mr. Sparks gave me a zinger at the end. He’s good at that. Nice. 9 out of 10.
