Still Life With Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen

Touching story of rediscovery in the second half of a woman’s life.  The still life part of the title refers to her career as a very successful photographer.  I like to think the bread crumbs refer to following a skimpy line of action.  Rebecca has had a drastic change of financial status and rents out her high priced New York apartment, using that money to live in a barely livable cabin in the woods where she can make ends meet and provide financial support for her parents. It’s a time of new relationships, career possibilities, making do, and meeting folks of the country community. Beautifully written. Wonderful read. Highly recommended.  9 out of 10.
